We believe sport has the power to change lives. At Impact Dragon Boat, we took a different approach to community engagement — one built on creating exciting, meaningful experiences that truly IMPACT the people who show up.

Dragon boat racing is not just a sport. It is an inclusive environment where people of all fitness levels, ages, and abilities come together as one team — staying active, building bonds, and having a great time on the water.

Our Mission: One Word. IMPACT.

Everything we do is designed to create IMPACT — in our community, in people’s lives, and in how sport is experienced in Puerto Rico and beyond.

Social IMPACT

We work to positively influence the role that organizations play in community well-being — building bridges between sport, purpose, and people.

Community IMPACT

We create opportunities to give back and express gratitude — organizing events and programs that serve those who need them most.

Lifestyle IMPACT

We champion a healthy, active lifestyle — combining physical activity with the joy of teamwork to help every paddler feel stronger, healthier, and more connected.

Our Vision

We are building a place where anyone — with or without rowing experience, at any fitness level — can step onto a dragon boat, feel comfortable, and thrive. On the water and off it, Impact Dragon Boat promotes discipline, camaraderie, teamwork, and mutual respect.

Corporate Team-Building

Dragon boat racing is one of the most powerful team-building experiences available. Every stroke requires trust, timing, and unity — lessons your team will carry back to the workplace. Promote teamwork. Build culture. Get on the water.

Club Membership & Leadership

Whether you are a first-time paddler or a seasoned athlete, we can help you join an existing club or guide you through starting your own. Dragon boating grows when great leaders step forward.

Inclusion & Diversity — Sport For Everyone

Dragon boating is one of the most naturally inclusive sports in the world. We actively design our programs to welcome people with diverse functional abilities, because we believe the water belongs to everyone.

Participation improves hand-eye coordination, strength, and endurance. Beyond the physical, it builds a powerful sense of belonging — the psychological benefit of being part of a team working toward a shared goal.

Adaptive Dragon Boat (Paradragons)

Adaptive Dragon Boat helps break down social and mindset barriers that can prevent people with disabilities from becoming physically active. We create an inclusive environment where people with disabilities can participate, train, and thrive in sport. Through our Paradragons Program, we welcome paddlers with diverse abilities, including reduced muscle power, limited range of motion, limb deficiency, leg-length difference, short stature, hypertonia, visual impairment, and intellectual disability.

For many of our Paradragons, dragon boating means setting aside a wheelchair, leaving crutches on the dock, and feeling free on the water. It is a transformative experience — team sport in its purest, most human form.

Cancer Survivors — Paddling Toward Recovery

Medical studies have helped dispel the myth that women who have undergone breast cancer treatment should avoid upper-body exercise out of fear of developing chronic lymphedema.

Dragon boating has been recognized as an ideal sport for breast cancer survivors because it is a repetitive, low-impact activity that supports physical recovery, promotes upper-body mobility, and encourages continued movement in a safe and supportive environment.

It is also an innovative and inclusive sport that encourages people of different ages and abilities to participate. Dragon boating helps improve coordination, strength, endurance, and overall quality of life while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and a strong sense of belonging.

The psychological benefits are equally important. Paddlers become part of a team where they are supported, motivated, and connected through a shared purpose.

Our festival proudly features a dedicated Breast Cancer Survivors (BCS) race category and an All Cancer Paddlers (ACP) division, open to survivors of any cancer. These are not sideline events. They are centerpiece moments that remind everyone why we paddle.
